Matthew Chamberlain is the CEO of the London Metal Exchange and a member of the Management Committee of HKEX Group.

Matthew joined the LME in 2012, having advised HKEX on the acquisition of the LME while at UBS. He started his career at Citibank, and holds an MA from Trinity College, Cambridge.

Adel Abubakar has been based in the US for over 7 years running and growing the Americas business for EGA. He joined DUBAL, now EGA in 2006 initially working on new smelter projects and was directly involved in key negotiations that lead to the creation of a new smelter in Abu Dhabi – Emirates Aluminium, which is today part of the EGA family. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from an American University and spent over a decade in the banking industry prior to joining EGA.

Brian’s career has focused on global metals at the producer and distributor levels. He has held leadership and marketing roles at Vedanta, Aleris, Alcan and Ryerson which gives him valuable insight into the complex worldwide marketplace of aluminum.

Lloyd A. “Buddy” Stemple, began his career in the aluminium industry in 1979 with Kaiser Aluminium and moved to Alcan Aluminium/Novelis in 1983 where he held various positions. Buddy joined the Oman Aluminium Rolling Company in 2010 as Chief Executive Officer and has overseen the establishment of the facility, organization and marketing plans. In March 2014, Buddy was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Constellium Ravenswood LCC in Ravenswood WV.

Marcus Becker started his career in the aluminium industry more than 20 years ago. He held several positions of increasing responsibility and leadership exposure over the years, particularly in Europe and the Middle East, Africa and India region. Born and lived in Germany, Marcus spent some years in the Middle East and is now based in Switzerland.

Tim has 30+ years of experience in the industry working for Elkem, Sapa, and Hydro. He manages a purchasing team supporting 700,000 mt of aluminum billet production in 9 cast houses and external billet sourcing for the company’s 18 extrusion plants in North America.

After holding different top management responsibilities in Steel companies in the UK and Sweden and leading a distribution company, Mr. Guinea joined the family business in 2015. In 2017 he was appointed CEO and since then he has been working relentlessly to help customers to improve profitability through digitalization, decarbonization and process optimization.

He has over 40 years of extensive international experience in restructuring and organizing, refinancing, steering companies into a new strategic direction, and advising companies how to achieve sustainable profitability. Mike T. Keown was previously Executive VP and President of Aleris NA beginning in 2015 up until the acquisition of Aleris by Novelis on April, 14, 2020. He is currently responsible for running and divesting the Aleris Lewisport business. Prior to 2015, Mr. Keown spent three years working for Aleris in Europe, where he served as VP and General Manager for the company’s extrusions business and earlier as VP of Supply Chain, Europe. Mr. Keown has been with the company since 1998.

Donald L. Foster is a globally recognized metals executive with more than 40 years’ experience in manufacturing and financed supply chain management. An expert in building shareholder value, he previously served as an officer of both United States Steel Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, and the L.B. Foster Company, a NASDAQ listed firm. Foster is a board-certified Governance Fellow and a member of the Private Directors Association.

Mary Jane joined the Beer Institute after serving as general counsel for Subway Franchisee Advertising Trust Fund, the marketing and advertising arm of Subway restaurants. Prior to that, she was a partner at two national law firms, Venable LLP and Arter & Hadden. She graduated with a B.A. from Virginia Tech and earned a J.D. from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University.

Georgina is the Chief of Staff and Chief Sustainability Officer for the LME Group, incorporating the LME and LME Clear, where she plays a central role in all aspects of the LME’s operations and strategic initiatives. She is also responsible for leading the LME’s work on sustainability, incorporating LME responsible sourcing – delivering an industry-wide programme in partnership with the OECD to ensure globally accepted standards for the sourcing of metals are embedded for production of LME-listed metals. Georgina has worked at the LME since September 2012, initially in research and analytics. She began her career at Euromoney Institutional Investor and has a doctorate in psychology.

Young-Jin (Jin) Chang is responsible for leading the strategic development, management and profitability of the company’s global metals business across all metals complex. She has served in roles of increasing responsibility within the metals business line since joining CME Group in 2011. Chang also serves on CME Group’s Diversity and Inclusion Council, which is responsible for driving the company’s D&I strategy.

​Mike Otero is an international executive with over 25 years of progressive manufacturing and metals experience with multiple global corporations.
Since 2020 Mike is currently the CEO of Almexa and based in Mexico City. Mike is working with his team to double production in the existing plants while they work to finish and commission the first greenfield DC hot mill in North America for several decades.
Mike also serves on the Board of Directors of the Aluminum Association and is passionate about the industry and its transition to a lower CO2 carbon footprint.

Mr. Grobien has been in the service center related industry for over 25 years, the last 12 years with NMM, serving mainly automotive / non-automotive OEM’s and Tier 1 companies, covering the industrial/automotive production backbone in Mexico. With a total of seven partner locations in Mexico, NMM has become one of the largest service centers in the country.

Patrick has gained in-depth knowledge and expertise in manufacturing, specifically in aluminum extrusion, casting and ductile iron automotive castings over a 30-year career. Patrick earned his Doctorate in Engineering from Cleveland State University, and is a senior member of the American Society of Quality and carries certifications as a CQE, CQA, CQM/OE and Six Sigma Black Belt.

Mr. Rosenblum has been in the aluminum scrap industry for over 40 years. For the last 15 years, David has been Vice President of Non Ferrous Sales for OmniSource, one of the largest scrap processors in North America, where he oversees the sales and marketing of aluminum scrap on a global basis.

Michel Bandel started his career in 2006 at Movida Communications, a telecom start-up, holding the positions of Sales Account Executive and later Project Manager and Sr. Marketing Analyst.
In 2011, he joined Royce Corporation as a Metal Trader for Latin America, with the main focus in NF Metals in the Caribbean, Brazil and Mexico markets.
Promoted to Senior Metal Trader in 2013, Michel expanded Royce’s geographical reach in North America, Asia, India and Europe.
In 2015, became VP of Trading and Metal Control, responsible Recycled NF Metal and Royce’s Primary/VAP business unit, as well as managing the company’s physical global metal position.
Michel holds an MBA from Georgetown’s University McDonough School of Business in Finance and General Management.

Frank van de Winkel’s career, started with the company CommoDaS GmbH in Wedel, Germany, in 2005. Within CommoDaS, he served as an engineer in application development, and he was responsible for the implementation of new sensor developments into sorting applications. With the acquisition of CommoDaS by TOMRA, Mr. van de Winkel took sales responsibility for both the North American metals and Australian markets. In 2015, Mr. van de Winkel became Business Development Manager for the Metals sorting business within TOMRA Sorting. Here, he is responsible for the development of new markets, new segments and new applications within the metals sorting business.

Ram Ramanan is considered one of the foremost experts in the aluminum billet and extrusion industry world-wide. Ram’s career spans more than 40 years at Alcan and the last 4 years as a consultant to two of the world’s leading international aluminum primary producers.

Jesus Villegas started in 2001 as macroeconomic analyst for HARBOR Intelligence. In 2006, became an aluminum analyst for HARBOR Aluminum. In 2007, became co-editor of HARBOR‘s publications: Aluminum Market and Price & Premiums Outlook. In 2010, became Vice President of Aluminum Industry Analysis (scrap and primary aluminum markets).

Tim Weiner has recently joined HARBOR as the Vice President and head of the newly created autonomous Aluminum Pricing and Risk Management Unit. He comes to us from the Molson Coors Beverage Company (MillerCoors & SABMiller) where he was, among several other key roles, mainly responsible for overseeing the development of all risk management & hedging strategies for their global commodities portfolios for the past 15 years. He is a current member of the London Metals Exchange Physical Markets Committee and has over 25 years of risk management, asset management and trading experience.

Tom Leary has over 25 years of manufacturing and commercial experience in the aluminum industry. He began his career as a metallurgist supporting smelting operations, cast house products, and process development on high purity and super high purity aluminum alloys. Later, Tom went into commercial roles in sales and marketing of value-add products, including sheet, plate, extrusions, castings, and aluminum powders. Tom joined HARBOR in March 2017 as HARBOR’s VP of Market Intelligence & Consulting and leads HARBOR’s flat rolled products practice.

Juan Betancourt started his career in 2006 as a financial planning analyst for Alcoa. In 2008, became commercial liaison for Latin America for Alcoa’s Flat Rolled Products Group. In 2011, became marketing analyst for Alcoa’s Material Management Group. In 2014, joined HARBOR as Senior Aluminum Trade Analyst (slab, billet, PFA, WR and P1020).

Started in 1969 as an aluminum scrap buyer and trader for US Reduction. In 1975, joined Salomon Brothers/Philipp Brothers as a Senior Vice President of Trading in all nonferrous metals. In 1993, joined a NY/Russian based trading company, as Senior Vice President of Aluminum Trading. In 1996, became Vice President of Alcoa Materials Management (metal purchasing and trading). In 2013, joined HARBOR as Senior Consultant.
